STEM: Moving for Measurement

Description:
Measurement is often a mathematics topic teachers struggle to find adequate time to teach. Measurement is usually at the end of textbooks and not considered as critical as topics related to number and operation in mathematics. However, measurement is an important skill for students to learn and apply to their daily lives. Come learn strategies to address measurement standards all year long while incorporating movement. We will participate in a few activities integrating measurement and movement and teachers will have time to look at a vertical progression of measurement standards to adapt the activities to their own grade levels.
